Biography

Martha Alexander was a daughter born to John Alexander and Martha Ruxton.

Martha is buried in the graveyard at Corkbeg, Ireland. The wording of the epitaph is: It pleased Almighty God to withdraw from this life on the 2nd day of March 1843 in the 38th year of her age MARTHA wife of Revd Francis Shortt A.M. Rector of Corkbeg Parish. Deeply lamented by her husband Children and friends. Her grave is on the left hand side if you face the new church. it is a raised tomb and this image is of the top of the tomb which is now difficult to read with ivy growing over part of it in 2017.
