Biography
When John Elbert Allen was born on August 2, 1846, in Cleveland, North Carolina, his father, Larkin, was 24 and his mother, Mary, was 16. He married Annie Elizabeth Earle on May 19, 1867, in York, South Carolina. They had 16 children in 35 years. He died on March 10, 1925, in Crossville, Alabama, at the age of 78, and was buried in Lathamville Baptist Church Cemetery, Lathamville, Alabama.
