CSA Company "H", 5th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry, Res,. 1903-Bay. Received Cross of Honor & Iron Cross. ("Confederat Soldiers in Colquitt County Georgia" by Ellen Payne Odom")
He was inducted into the Army from Colquitt County and saw action in "The Battle of Manassas (Bull Run)". He received a head injury, a scar in his forehead. After returing home from the War-1865- went down to Colquitt County and started a plantation near Moultrie. Pg. 706 "The children of Thomas Alligood."
