Biography

Niels Andersen Bjerregaard was born on March 8,1842 in Fovlum parish, Ålborg, Denmark. He was the son of Anders Bjerregaard and Bodil Thomasdatter.[1]

His family immigrated to Utah, United States in about 1857, settling in Ephraim, Utah. He fled to Missouri, following his parents, in 1866 due to disagreements with the Mormon church over polygamy. His first chid died during the trip. After this, the Missouri family started to use Byergo as their last name instead of Bierregaard.

He married Johanne Helene Nielsdatter Bertelsen. They had 8 children.
