Hon. Lettice Annesley was born on 24 September 1885. She was the daughter of Arthur Annesley, 11th Viscount of Valentia and Laura Sarah Webb. She married Captain Geoffrey Vaux Salvin Bowlby, son of Edward Salvin Bowlby and Elizabeth Vans Agnew, on 18 October 1911. She died in 1988. She was Commandant of the Auxiliary Hospital, and was mentioned in despatches twice between 1916 and 1919. She held the office of Lady-in-Waiting to the Duchess of York between 1932 and 1936, (later the Queen Mother). She was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1937. She held the office of Woman of the Bedchamber to HM Queen Elizabeth between 1937 and 1945. She lived in 1965 at Middleton Stoney, Bicester, Oxfordshire, England. [1]
