Biography

Mary was born in 1829. She was the daughter of William Armour and Mary Dunlop. ^[1]

She married Andrew Ralston in 1849. ^[2]

They came to the US in 1858. ^[3]

They farmed in Boone County and were part of the Scotch Settlement at Argyle.

She passed away in 1919. ^[4]

Rockford Daily Register-Gazette, Saturday, March 15, 1919

Mrs. Mary Armour Ralston, of Caledonia, Ill., passed away at her home on Tuesday morning at the age of ninety years. The deceased was a native of Argyleshire, Scotland, and was born April 30, 1829.

In 1858 Mrs. Ralston accompanied her husband to America, ultimately locating at Caledonia, where she had since resided. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John McDermaid, of Rockford, Mrs. John A. McEachran, Mrs. Stephen Huntley, and one son, John A. Ralston, all residing in Caledonia.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the Caledonia church, the services being conducted by Rev. Davison of the Willow Creek Presbyterian church. Interment was in the family lot in the Argyle Cemetery.
