John was born in 1927. He was the son of Samuel Arms and Gladys Smith. He passed away in 2005.

ARMS, John "Jack" - Of Lapeer, age 78, died Friday, July 22, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, July 25, 2005 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer, Pastor Peter DeKlerk officiating. Burial in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer. Visitation 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday. Surviving: siblings, Ida Harvey of Lapeer, Joseph (favorite sister-in-law, Lois) Arms of Oxford, Glenn Dunham of Gaylord; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: wife, Shirley in 1994; parents, Samuel and Gladys (Smith) Arms and father and mother-in-laws, Henry and Margaret (Thomas) LoRee. Mr. Arms attended Calvary Bible Church for years. He graduated from Lapeer High School, Class of 1945. Right out of school Jack worked as a Western Union delivery man. Later, he served his country in the United States Army. Jack was known by many in Lapeer as a mail carrier, for 27 years. He also owned and operated Lapeer's Smallest Printer. Mr. Arms was proud to serve as a Lapeer City Commissioner for 13 years, during that time, he also was the Mayor Pro-Tem. Memorials may be made to Marlette Hospice, Calvary Bible Church or WMPC.
