Samuel, born in 1859, was the son of William Arnott and Matilda McCaulay. He married Mary Eleanor Hicks in 1888. At the time of their marriage, he was a farmer.[1]
They were recorded in the 1901 Census of Canada living in Macdonald, Manitoba, with their six children.[2]
By the 1916 Census they had moved to Saskatchewan, where two more children were born.[3]
