Alma (Arrington) Brown is a part of US Black heritage.

Alma Virginia Arrington was born on 14 Feb 1940 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York in the United States of America.[1][2] She was the daughter of Martin Luther and Dorothy Arrington. She grew up in Brooklyn.[3][4]

Alma graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee in 1961. She graduated with a Masters in education from Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York in 1972.[2]

Alma married Ronald Harmon Brown in 1962.[2][5] They had two children.[2]

From 1962-1966, Ron served in the US Army in Korea and Germany.[6] Their family eventually settled in Washington, D.C., in 1973. Alma's career included positions as public affairs director of a District-area radio station, WKYS-FM, and senior vice president of Chevy Chase Bank. She retired from the bank in 2010. She was also a board vice chairman of the National Urban League and a leader in black social organizations, including the Links and Jack and Jill.

Alma died on 3 Apr 2016 in Washington D.C. She was buried in Arlington National Cemetery.[2][7]
