Biography

Joseph was born in 1820. He was the son of Lewis Arthur and Kiziah Jones. He passed away in 1904.

Joseph and Nancy Jane were married about 1843. Based on census records and death certificates they had the following children:

Research Notes

The Census Reports on this family is bizarre. Some children are not on census reports when they’re supposed to be yet are on the next one. Some kids are on a census report but not on the next one. It’s the same family because some of the kids are on all of the census reports. For the most part there’s no record of middle names which could explain that the child is on all of the reports but just under their middle name. A few children aren’t on any census report as a child. It’s only known they’re Joseph & Nancy Jane’s child by their death certificate.

Son William could be nicknamed “Willis”, mistranscribed as “Millis”.
