Biography

Ernest was the youngest of of 8 children born to Isaac Ashcroft and Alice Haslehurst. He was christened on 3rd December, 1876 at Christ Church, Padgate Lancashire ^[1] and lived and worked on the family farm in Long Lane, Orford, Lancashire along with most of his siblings. ^{[2] [3] [4]} and later at Brook House Farm, Penketh, Lancashire. ^[5] He stayed on at the farm with most of his siblings after the death of their father and older brother Walter. ^[6] He died in 1952 at the age of 75.^[7]
