Biography

Elizabeth Ashforth was born in Sheffield on 19 March 1837, and baptised at Sheffield, Cathedral Church of St Peter & St Paul on 24 May 1837, she was the daughter of William Ashforth, a painter, and Hannah Rogerson [1]

She married Joseph Booth Marshall on 15 August 1860 at Sheffield, St Matthew, Carver Street. The marriage certificate showed Elizabeth to be the daughter of William Ashforth, an artist, Joseph was a schoolmaster and the son of John Marshall, a tailor. [2]
