SERVICES: Memorial Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora. The Rev. David Forsman will be celebrant. Arrangements by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.

Margaret Catherine “Peg” Jacobs, 80, of Aurora, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at her daughter’s residence in Aurora.

She was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Minneapolis to John and Kathryn (Salminen) Auvinen. She was a graduate of Miller Vocational High School and married Elmer Jacobs on Jan. 12, 1946. She worked as a cook at the Merritt House in Biwabik for many years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Aurora Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Biwabik American Legion Auxiliary and the Aurora Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Charles) Jourdak of Chester, Md., Sandra (Tom) Brouillet of St. Cloud, Chris (Jerry) Herzog of Aurora, Margaret Kay (Bruce) Richards of Annapolis, Md., and Carolyn (Scott) Braaten of Stacy, Minn.; son, Mark (Carolyn) Jacobs of Aurora; brothers, Earl Auvinen of Rockport, Texas, and John Auvinen of Litchfield, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer in 1991; and sisters, Hazel Sadloske, Mildred Aamot and Alice Heinonen.
