Per The Groton Avery Clan: Ephraim Avery was a mariner and sailed in the sloop "Sea Flower," Capt. King. The sloop arrived from Saltudus, April 17, 1719, with smallpox aboard.
Saturday, May 9, 1719, "Ephraim Avery was buried on Powder Island, he died with Small Pox on Bord of Capt. King" (Hempstead's Diary, p. 88).
