Biography

Hannah Hall, born 7 Apr 1712 at Groton, Connecticut, was the sixth child of Mary (Griswold) Avery (1673-1750) and James Avery III (1673-1754).

Hannah Avery married 22 May 1734 Rev. Theophilus Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut; the officiant was Mr. James Avery.[1] (7 Apr 1712 Groton, Connecticut - 15 Aug 1753) dau of Captain James Avery and Mary Griswold.[2]

Their children included:

  1. Hannah Hall 1735–1753; unmarried
  2. Theophilus Hall 1736–1739
  3. Avery Hall (1737-1820)
  4. Samuel Hall, b. 16 Jul 1739; married Eunice Lee
  5. Lucy (Hall) Hough (twin), b. 26 Aug 1741; married James Hough; d. 5 Oct 1775 @ Meriden, Connecticut
  6. Theophilus Hall (twin), b. 26 Aug 1741; married Elizabeth Crouch; d. 17 May 1804 @ Meriden, Connecticut
  7. Mary Hall, b. 24 Jun 1743
  8. Elisha Hall; died young
  9. Elisha Hall, b. 3 Mar 1745; married Ann Hopkins; d. 13 Mar 1779
  10. Mehitable Hall, b. 1751; d. 11 Sep 1767 @ Meriden, Connecticut

Hannah (Avery) Hall died October 1791 at Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut. Her grave probably is in Meeting House Cemetery, Meriden, New Haven, Connecticut [3], as is that of her husband. No grave marker is evident.
