Mary Salvina Babbit was born 12 Feb 1863 in Troy, Kansas.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Note: Some census records have her birthplace as Missouri rather than Kansas.

She was the daughter of Ira Babbit and Rachel Nowell.[1][7]

Mary married first John Timothy Healy 11 Feb 1877 in Cooper County, Missouri.[8]
