Biography

John Bailey was born in 1698, the son of Jonathan Bailey and Hannah Walker.[1]

He was married 17 Jan. 1722/23 at Rowley, MA to Elizabeth Crosby.[2] They had eight children born at Rowley, MA:

  1. Infant, stillborn, 17 Jul. 1723
  2. Jonathan, b. 28 July 1724; d. 21 Aug. 1724
  3. Elizabeth, b. 15 Aug. 1725; d. 8 Sep. 1725
  4. Hannah, (baptized as Elizabeth), b. 1 Jan. 1726/27; m. Jabez Norcross, 27 Mar. 1771
  5. Jedediah, b. 31 Oct. 1729; m1. Martha (Thurston} Thurlow, 1 June 1756; m2. Abigail (Walker) Ruggles, 10 May 1792; d. 26 Mar. 1806
  6. John, b. 8 Aug. 1732; m. Mary Holman, 4 Nov. 1756
  7. Jonathan (2nd), b. 1 June 1735; d. 1755
  8. Elizabeth (2nd), b. 4 June 1738; m. Page Norcross, 15 Feb. 1763.

John Bailey died 1 June 1787, at Lunenburg, MA, at age 88.[3]
