Biography

Baptism - Mary was baptised on the 20 June 1802 at St Mary and St Stephens, Wolsingham, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret. [1]

Marriage: Kirtley Glendinning married Mary Baker on the 26 Apr 1834 at Brancepeth, Durham, England. [2] Kirtley and Mary had the following children -

  1. D Ann b. 1832 Durham, England
  2. Mary (Margaret) b. abt 1837 Seaton Carew, Durham, England,
  3. Elizabeth b. abt 1840 Seaton Carew, Durham, England,
  4. Henry Kirtley b. abt 1842 Seaton Carew, Durham, England, died 1881, Hartlepool
  5. Kirtley b. abt 1845 Seaton Carew, Durham, England, died before 1871, Hartlepool

In 1841, the family were living at Toffts, Stranton, Stockton & Sedgefield, Durham, England. The household comprised of Kirtley and Mary and the children D Ann, Mary J., Elizabeth A. Kitley is a farmer by profession, there are also 5 other adults living in the household and their professions all read M.P. or F.P., they are likely to be farm workers living in. [3]

In 1851, the family are living at Seaton Carew, Stockton, Durham, England. The household comprises of Kirtley Glendinning who is a Farmer Reduced, Mary and their children Margaret, Elizabeth, Henry and Kirtley. [4]

Mary died in the June quarter of 1851 in the Stockton on Tees registration district (which covers Hartlepool) [5]
