Biography

Hannah was born about 1736 daughter of Timothy Ballard and Hannah Chandler . She passed away about 1778.

In his will written in 1807, Nehemiah left to beloved wife Lydia Abbot all the furniture she brought with her to the marriage, his best chaise, and a seat in his pew at the meeting house. Lydia also receives use of a specified portion of the house and a list of provisions for her support as long as she is a widow. She also receives title to a tract of salt meadow. Son Nehemiah Abbot, daughter Phebe Abbot, daughter Hannah Hawley, and son William L. Abbot receive ten dollars each which completes their portions. Son Abiel Abbot receives the remainder of the estate and is named executor. The real estate was valued at $12,923 and personal estate at $1,670.81.[1]

All the children named in the will are from Nehemiah’s marriage to Hannah Ballard. Nehemiah and his second wife Lydia Clark had two children who died in infancy (Elizabeth Abbott 1781-1782 and Parker Clark Abbott 1783-1783).
