Vivian Irene Smith, 88, Bridgewater, formerly of Broad Cove, died May 18, 1999, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Waterville, she was a daughter of the late John and Sadie (MacDonald) Baltzer. Surviving are her husband, William; daughters, Myrtle Lohnes, Betty Crawford, Bridgewater; Norma Dorey, Cookville; Shirley Smith, Cole Harbour; son, Ronald, Beaver Bank; brother, Warren, Aylesford; sisters, Marion Pick, Kentvile; Julia Keddy, Berwick; Stella Zwicker, Indian Point; Emma Amero, Digby; Mildred Burdon, Whitby, Ontario; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, William, Arthur; daughter, Mary in infancy; brothers, Harold, Keith, Percey; sister, Margaret; grandson, Danny. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral 11 a.m. Friday, both in R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, Rev. David Whynot officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Broad Cove. Family flowers only. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society.
