Biography
On 11 Jul 1763, in St-Michel-de-La-Durantaye, Antoine Bissonette son of the late Baptiste Bissonet and Therese Helie married Marie Josephe Baquet daughter of François Baquet and the late Marie Josephe Portelance. Witnesses: groom- his brother, Jean Baptiste Bissonette, and his brother in law, Joseph Jolivet; Bride- her father and her brother, François Baquet. Two signatures but the couple could not sign. [1]
Dispensation was obtained for a 3rd to 4th degree of consanguinity. They were 2nd cousins once removed. Their common ancestors were Pierre Bissonette and his second wife Marie Dallon, Pierre Bissonette was the first of her three husbands.
Note that PRDH links this Antoine Bissonette to the marriage with Marie Magdeleine Frontigny even though the marriage to Marie Josephe Baquet records him as a bachelor.
Marie Bâquet dite Lamontagne, 47 year old wife of Antoine Bissonette, died 15 Jul 1798. She was buried the next day in St-Charles de Bellechasse cemetery. In attendance were her sons André and Joseph Bissonette, no signatures. [2]
