Biography
The son of John Lambert and Myrtle (Barnes) Lambert, Rufus Barnes was born in Rose Hill, Virginia in 1914.[citation needed] He lived there with his family.[1] His parents divorced; in 1930, Rufus lived in Rose Hill with his mother and his siblings.[2] Rufus Barnes died of a cervical fracture suffered in an automobile accident in Gibson Station, Virginia, at the age of 25.[3] He is buried with his mother at Elydale Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia.[4]
