Biography

Patience Barnes was born about 1712. She was the daughter of Joshua Barnes and Sarah Jackson. Patience was mentioned in her father's will, Joshua Barnes, of Rye, Westchester Co., NY as married to David Halstead. His will dated September 30, 1756. ^{[1] [2]}

She married her husband David Halstead in about 1733. Together, they had at least the following children:

1. Stephen Halstead, b.1737, d. 1805
2. Joshua Halstead, b. 1739, d. 1818
3. Samuel Halstead, b. 1744, d. 1824
4. David Halstead, b. 1750, d. 1805
