Family history and Hopewell history states that Robert Franklin Barnett was an Elder at Sugar Creek at the time of their marriage. Both are buried in Sugar Creek's third cemetery. In the " History of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church" Robert was installed as an elder on June 28, 1853, and served until his death.
