Original Note:

• From Barnett Families of Steele Creek Area and others of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina - A Robert Barnett (probably son of Hugh Barnett) born 1750 died 1830 married Jinny? They had children including Robert Franklin who married Mary T. Sample.
• Family history and Hopewell history states that Robert Franklin Barnett was an Elder at Sugar Creek at the time of their marriage. Both are buried in Sugar Creek's third cemetery. In the " History of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church" Robert was installed as an elder on June 28, 1853, and served until his death.
