Biography

BARNHART George Peter , Sr.

Note: Lucy, age 6, that is listed in the 1870 census with George and Annie. Lucy is probably the child of George Peter, Jr., and Amy (Deneen). If the age is correct for Annie listed in the 1870 census, Annie would have been age 59 when Lucy was born, and age 50 by her age listed in the 1850 census. (I don't think so).

This is why I believe Lucy is probably the child of George Peter, Jr. and Amy (Deneen) Barnhart. If the age for Lucy is correct as listed in 1870, Lucy would have been born 1864,or 1865, after Cecil Upton in Jan. 16, 1863. (see information under George Peter Barnhart, Jr.)

Isaac's age as listed on the Fulton Co. Cemetery disk, 1997 is.. b-26 Oct. 1855; d-23 May 1922; If this is correct, Isaac would have been age 7 when George, Jr. and Amy Deneen were married in September 21, 1862, so Isaac is probably the son of George, Sr. and Annie (Bradock) Barnhart. Going by the age of 36 for Annie as listed in the 1850 census, she would have about age 41 or 42 when Isaac was born.

As stated by researcher Lynn Hendershot. George Peter Barnhart Jr. died Aug 23, 1864, while being held prisoner at Fort Gains, Alabama in the American Civil War.

Note: I have information that contradicts with the information of Lynn Hendershot. See my information listed under George Peter, Jr..


William Barnhart, who died May 1, 1916, buried Mays Chapel, May 4, 1916, Fulton Co. Bethel Twp.; has Parents listed as, Father: George Peter Barnhart and Mother: Annie Bradock.

On the Death Certificate, George Peter is spelled, "Gorge Petter" Both George Peter, and Annie Bradock listed as being born in Pennsylvania.
