Zacheus Barnum married (1st) Susannah Wolcott, daughter of Samuel Wolcott; she died in October 1790. No children were born of that union. He married (2nd), in 1791, Sarah (Cary) Bush, widow of Eben Bush. In 1792 he settled with Sarah on the farm that she had inherited from her first husband. Zacheus and Sarah had four children.

In the 1800 US Census for Shoreham, Addison, Vermont the Zacheus Barnum family is enumerated as follows:

Pg 71; Ln 16; Barnum, Zacheus; 3 free white males to 10; 1 free white male 26 to 45; 1 free white female to 10; 2 free white females 10 to 16; 1 free white female 16 to 26 and 1 free white female 26 to 45.

In the 1810 US Census for Shoreham, Addison, Vermont the Zacheus Barnum family is enumerated as follows:

Pg 162; Barnum, Zachius; 1 free white male to 10; 2 free white males 10 to 16; 1 free white male 16 to 26; 1 free white male 45 up; 1 free white female 10 to 16; 2 free white females 16 to 26 and 1 free white female 45 up.

The Barnum Family, 1517-1904^[1] calls him Tacheus Barnum; that is a probable transcription error.
