Biography

Cyrus Vawter Barr was the son of Jesse Barr and Anna Kirk.

Silas (Syrus) V. Barr, oral history in "Pioneer Stories of Linn County, Oregon" vol. 1, p. 19.^[1]

Often his name is seen spelled Syrus or Silas. He was age 5 in 1860 and living in Brownsville, Linn County.^[2]

When he was age 25, C V Barr was in the household of his brother-in-law J M Powell, who was married to his sister, Eliza Jane (Barr) Powell. J M Powell was a merchant in Prineville, Wasco, Oregon.^[3]

He married Lulu Olive Hamilton 21 Oct 1891 in Linn County.^[4]

In 1900 Cyrus had been married 8 years. He was living in the Foster Precinct of Linn County. His wife Lulu was age 26 b Missouri. Their son Victor Silas Barr was age 5.^[5]

In 1910 the Barr family was living in Sweet Home. His mother Annie, age 83 b Tennessee, was with Cyrus, age 55, Lulu, age 36, Victor S age 15, Fannie G age 8 and Annie M, infant.^[6]
