After her marriage to Jared Tracey, Emma became the mother of triplets, Mabel, Edith, and Bessie, who were born on three consecutive days in 1886. The parents sold photos of the triplets to raise funds for their support, and several of those photos are shown in the Images sections of this profile and on the profile for each of the triplets.

"Mrs. Emma Barton Tracey, 91, widow of Jared W. Tracey, died at her residence in Blue Ridge Summit at 1 o'clock this morning, following an illness of three weeks. She had been confined to the Waynesboro Hospital two weeks.

"She was born in Frederick County, Md., daughter of Thomas H. and Harriet Fogle Barton. Her early life was lived in the vicinity of Emmitsburg. Following her marriage she resided in Fountaindale. For the last 48 years she had made her home at Blue Ridge Summit.

"Her husband died 42 years ago.

"She was a member of the Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church.

"Surviving are four daughters and one son: Mrs. Victor McKelvey, Waynesboro; Mrs. Jesse S. Thornpson, Mrs. Clay E. Willard and Mrs. Chester W. Harbaugh, all of Blue Ridge Summit; Merle W. Tracey, at home, and four grandchildren. She was the last of her family of eight children.

"Funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Monterey, in charge of the Rev. Louis E. Campbell. Interment will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.

"Friends may call at the church Sunday afternoon from 2 o'clock until the hour of service."
