Humphrey Bate was a North Carolina colonist.

Humphrey was born about 1711.

Humphrey Bate of Bertie County, North Carolina married Sarah Leggett. One daughter was Mildred Millie Bates. One son was James Bate.

Previously of Spotsylvania County, Virginia: Virginia, Land, Marriage, and Probate Records, 1639-1850 (Court, Land, Wills & Financial): Humphrey Bate, Record Date: 30 Jul 1760, Civil: Spotsylvania Co, VA, although this record could belong to his father.[1]

From the apparent court held 9 May 1749 at the Court House at Cashy Bridge, Thomas Whitmell was appointed Keeper of the weights and measures, John Hill and Humphrey Bate, Sureties.[2]

He died in North Carolina[3] about 1782.
