Biography

Mary Battle Rabun was First Lady of Georgia from 1817 until the sudden death of Governor Rabun in 1819. They are buried at Powelton, Hancock County, Georgia (see "Images") See also this link: [1]

Mary was born on 12 December 1774 in New Kent, Virginia, USA. She was the daughter of Jesse Battle and Susanna (Faucette) Battle.[1]

When Mary was 18 she married William Rabun on 21 November 1793 in Halifax, North Carolina, USA. The couple had one child: Martha Battle Martha Battle /Battle/.[2]
