Caroline arrived in Port Adelaide, South Australia on 21 April 1850 on the barque "Ceres" from Bremen Germany with her widowed mother, husband and two children: Wilhelm Lauchs and George Heinrich Friedrich Lauchs, born about 1848 and 1849 respectively. LAUCHS Georg Heinrich August, Caroline Rosina Dorothea BAUMGURTEL, Whm, Georg Hein Fried arrived in SA 1850-04-21 aboard Ceres from Bremen 1849-12-10 via the Downs. ^{[2] [3]}
