Biography

George, was the 5th son of John Baxter.

George emigrated and first landed in NSW, Australia. He left from Liverpool in 1862 and made his way to New Zealand where he arrived in Auckland on the ship Shalimar.

George settled in Canterbury where he purchased land and named his property Moville Farm.

He married Jessie Watson about 1878. ^[1]

George and his brother Robert both had sons named George Alexander Baxter born in 1882.

George died in 1911 and is buried at Ellesmere Public Cemetery. Leeston.
