Biography

William Bean is a member of Clan MacBean.

William Hatch Bean is the son of Edmond J. Bean and Elizabeth (Whitford) Bean.

In 1854, William built a Treadmill in Grayson County, Texas. In 1857, he settled in Farmington, where he operated a mill with H. H. Harrison and Samuel Beatly.

On September 14, 1858, in Grayson County, Texas, William married Harriett Jordon Harrison, born December 20, 1825, in North Carolina.

William and Harriett had six children, all born in Grayson County, Texas:

Virginia Bean, married Thorton E. Shirley;

Paul W. Bean;

Lillian B. Bean;

J. H. Bean (female) born 1863;

Harry Bean, born September 2, 1866, died August 25, 1880. Buried with his parents in a little cemetery without a name south of Tom Bean, Texas;

Bessie Bean, born September 27, 1877, died November 18, 1880. Also buried in the cemetery with her brother Harry and their parents.
