Biography

Richard Barrett Bean is the son of Henry Speer Bean and Jane Josephine (Bailey) Bean. Richard joined the Unites States Navy, in 1944, during World War II. He was assigned to the Pacific Theatre, 31st Flotilla, Third Fleet. ^[1]

In June 1947, in St. Henry's Church, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, Richard married Johanna Clantar, born 1927, in New York City, daughter of Spiro Clanter and Maude (Freeman) Clantar.

Children of Richard and Johanna are:

• Francis Richard "Frank" Bean, born June 13, 1948, in Dearborn, Michigan, married June Estelle Colin

• Barbara Estridge Bean, born May 22, 1957

• Norman Arthur Estridge Bean, born August 17, 1959

• Charles Chris Estridge Bean, born February 17, 1961

• Homer Jack Wyke Bean, born December 12, 1962

• Alton Ray Wyke Bean, born Februay 10, 1964

On February 19, 1966, Richard married Mary Jo Barnes, daughter of Arthur Barnes and Minnie (Reeves) Barnes, as her fourth husband. Richard adopted her oldest son and may have adopted her other five children, as well.
