Edith was born about 1880[1] in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, where she lived at 95 Crookes, Nether Hallam, with her parents in 1881[2]; they had moved to 47 Crookes by 1891.[3][4]
In 1905 she married Thomas Suddaby GIBSON in Crookes, Sheffield, Yorkshire.[5][6] In 1911 the family lived at 72 College Road, Rotherham, Yorkshire; Thomas was a grocer's assistant.[7]
