Robert C. Beardsley, 48, of Scotts, MI, and formerly of Monroe, passed away suddenly July 3 from complications of Type 1 diabetes. He donated his body for research to the Western Michigan University Medical School in Kalamazoo.
Robert was born Sept. 8, 1968, in Monroe. He was the son of Lloyd (Carol) Beardsley and Marian (Lee) Gibbs.
Robert graduated from Central Michigan University and moved to Scotts, Michigan, where he owned Scotts Country Store and Deli. Robert was an accomplished artist and enjoyed being active in his community.
He is survived by his parents, his sister Laura (Lou) Bellon, brother John Beardsley, nieces Julia and Alyssa Bellon and Victoria and Lily Beardsley, and nephews Robert and David Bellon. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane (Jim Burchette) Beardsley.
A celebration of his life will be held at Scotts Community Center in Scotts, MI, on July 15th from 1 to 4 p.m. Robert was a kind and caring man and he will be missed by all who knew him. [Monroe News, 12 to 13 Jul 2017]
