Biography

Lola Cordelia Beason was born in Cleburne County, Alabama, on February 2, 1881, to Clay Beason and Cordelia Turner.^[1]

According to a note on her FamilySearch profile, "an old survey taken by Catherine Eddings Storey in January of 2004" noted that she was raped when she was 19, which resulted in the birth of her son Sylvan. Because of the trauma, she never married.^[2]

At the 1920 census, Lola and Sylvan were living in Arbacoochee Precinct, Cleburne County, in the household of her sister Lonnie and brother-in-law Absolem Thrower along with her nephew Theron and niece Lillie.^[3]

At the 1930 census, Lola was a boarder in the household of G. L. and Lonnie Cochran in Bells Mills Precinct, Cleburne County. (Lonnie Cochran is not the same person as her sister.)^[4]

At the 1940 census, Lola was living in Heflin with Lonnie and Absolem Thrower. According to this census, she never completed any school.^[5]

Lola died in Heflin on April 24, 1942.^[1] She was buried in the Beason Grove Cemetery.^[6]
