Biography
Adele was born in 1868.
Adele was married October 29, 1895. [1]
She married James Hardy Adams in 1896
They had 4 chidlren.
Adele was 8 years older than James and had been his school teacher. It was not uncommon for a single school teacher to marry one of her older students. ["My grandfather Joseph Quincy Adams told me that his mother Adelle divorced his daddy when they lived in Sulligent, Alabama, because he had another girl he was seeing pregnant in 1906."]
James took up with Sarah McReynolds and both women were pregnant. Adele divorced him. James married Sarah and Adelle married an Ashcraft.
She had 3 Ashcraft children.
She remarried an Ashcraft after her divorce. (Did she divorce Ashcraft, too?)
She passed away in 1930. Buried at Tabernacle Cemetery, Echola, Tuscaloosa, Alabama under the name Adelle Beatty Adams Ashcraft.
