Biography
John Beckett, estimated birth around 1554, was probably born in the Watford, Hertfordshire, England, area.[1]
He married a woman named Mary around 1577, who was the executrix of his estate.[1]
A tailor, he owned three properties.[1]
- One acre of land, a house and outbuildings
- A garden and an orchard
- A parcel in Buckinghamshire.
John's will was dated 20 July 1590.[1] He was buried 24 July 1590.[2] Besides his wife the will mentions his son John and daughter Mary.[1]

Annie B, it would be nice to give credit to the researcher who found the parents of Mary Beckett, as summarized in my 2015 pink booklet [MFIP SOULE (2015) pp. 1-4, citing Mayflower Quarterly 79(4):313-324]. I think it is all mentioned on Caleb's website, Thanks. [One of the naming clues for the children of George Soule is the name Nathaniel -- for his mother's sibling who d.y.]

Thank you Louise, I agree. It was an oversight on my part. I had not actually read the original article, but was able to find it on the Mayflower Society Website and have added it to the appropriate profiles.
