Biography

To the uncle I never had the privilege to meet, here is a somber salute to you for the ultimate sacrifice you made for myself and my country on that dark day in 1945. On this memorial day May 29, 2017, hats off to you Bud, well done. From nephew Randy Beebe

The news of Bud's death was brought to the Robert Beebe family by a surviving shipmate, Jim Griffith also a native of the Morris, Minnesota area. Mr. Griffith related that Bud was in the area of the ship that took a direct hit by one of the Japanese kamikazi planes, and likely suffered an instantaneous death.
