Biography

Esther Beebe, daughter of James Beebe and Ruth Brooks, was born in 1767. [1] Esther and Aaron were married 7 Aug 1783. [2] She was the first of Aaron Stebbins' wives; after her death abt. 1795 he would marry twice more. Esther and Aaron had 7 children: Hosea, Roxanna, Rebecca, Mary, Esther, Aaron III, and Amy. [3]

The exact date and place of death for Esther (Beebe) Stebbins is unknown, however, there is a primary record documenting the marriage of her husband Aaron Stebbins to his second wife Zerriah Green on 14 Dec 1797 at Wilbraham, Massachusetts. [4] Thus, it is 99.999% certain that Ester Stebbins died in Wilbraham Massachusetts sometime prior to this date. Her date of death is further bounded by the birth of her youngest child Amy Stebbins born 2 July 1797 at Wilbraham, Hampden, Massachusetts. {The source of this date of birth is from the find a grave profile of her daughter Amy Stebbins} Thus it it 100% certain that Esther (Beebe) Stebbins died sometime between 2 July 1797 and 14 Dec 1797, and as it is known that she was in Wilbraham at the birth of daughter Amy (prior to her death) and that her husband, Aaron, remarried in Wilbraham, shortly thereafter, it is almost certain her death occurred in Wilbaham, Mass, most likely as a consequence of the birth of Amy.

Research Notes

  1. ) 2018-12-15 The following death record had been cited for the Esther Beebe of this profile, but data correlation with other records very clearly shows that this death record was not for this Esther (Beebe) Stebbins and was misplaced. The are two data points which confirm this death record is not for Esther (Beebe) Stebbins of this profile; first, the record is for an Esther Beebe rather than an Esther Stebbins as it would need to be, and second the death date occurs two years prior to the known birth date of Esther (Beebe) Stebbins youngest child Amy.
