Biography

Early Life

Barbara Ellen Beeler was born in Union, Tennessee on 12/26/19031,2. Her parents were James Harrison Beeler (05 Oct 1875) and Allie Florence Heck (29 Oct 1887). She had four brothers (Harve Edgar Beeler (1913), Tyson Edgar Beeler (07 Jul 1915), General Lawton Beeler (01 Jul 1918), Jay Will Beeler (1922)) and eight sisters (Vernie Beeler, Mattie Geneva Beeler, Charlotte Mossie Beeler (01 Mar 1905), Lillian Mae Beeler (17 Aug 1908), Ida Florence Beeler (06 Mar 1911), Emily Cleo Beeler (10 May 1913), Vesta Ruth Beeler (24 Feb 1920), Hazel Frances Beeler (17 Jun 1925)). When she was 24 years old, her mother Allie Florence Heck died (4/8/1928).

Family

She married Dewey Clifford Shipley (01 Apr 1905) in Kentucky in 1923. She was 19 years old when she married Dewey Clifford Shipley, who was 18 years old at that time. She had six children with Dewey Clifford Shipley: Eva Marie Shipley (18 Jun 1924), Dorothy Helen Shipley (20 May 1927), Emert Shipley (13 May 1929), Arley Paris Shipley (30 Mar 1931), Velma Fae Shipley (28 Jul 1934), Zelma Mae Shipley (28 Jul 1934). In 1920, she moved to Civil District 7, Claiborne, Tennessee. She moved to Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee on 12/17/1934.

Death

On 12/18/1934, she died in Cheatham County, Tennessee when she was 30 years old.[1] She was buried on 12/19/1934 on the Beeler farm in Cheatham County.[2] Her husband Dewey Clifford Shipley died on 9/6/1975, 41 years after her.
