Research Notes
- Original profile listed her current surname as "Secrest". This Mary Beeson is not the Mary Beeson who married William Secrest (abt.1755-1825). The dates of the children listed in each family overlap.
- Children of Benjamin Austin Washburn (1752-1847) and his wife, Mary Beeson, have birth dates as shown on Benjamin's memorial on FAG ranging from 1785 to 1802.[1]
- Children of William Secrest and his wife, Mary Beeson, range from 1780 to 1804 as listed on Find A Grave.[2]
- Mary was removed as the daughter of Mercer J. Beeson (abt.1740-abt.1778) and Mary (Malin) Beeson (1741-1796). According to her FamilySearch Family Tree profile[3], her parents are unknown. The other Mary (Beeson) Secrest (1765-1824) is shown as the daughter of Mercer and Mary Malin Beeson.[4]
