Biography
From Find A Grave:
- Mary Elisabeth " Liz" Belcher was the fourth child and second daughter of John A. Belcher and Jemimah Cauley Belcher.
- 'Liz' married Daniel 'Petey' Jarrell on Jan, 17 1879. Liz was 16 and Daniel was 21 years old. The ceremony was performed by my great-great grandfather , Amos Halstead II , who was a Campbellite minister.
- 'Petey' was the brother of Joseph 'Joe' Jarrell , husband of Liz's sister , Rhoda 'Rodie' Belcher Jarrell .
- It is believed that Liz and Petey did not have any children together .
- Mary's grave is located next to her sister Martha Jane and was unmarked for many years. All but two graves of this Belcher family generation are located in a common row in this cemetery . Most are only marked with rocks at the foot and head .
