Nonie Belfield was born in 1907. He was the son of John Belfield and Nannie Mason. In the 1910 census Nonnie (age 3) was the son of John Belfield in Gaston, Northampton, North Carolina, United States.[1] In the 1920 census Nonie (age 12) was the son of John Belfield in Gaston, Northampton, North Carolina.[2]
Nonie was stabbed in the chest on 2 May 1965 in front of the fire station at 28th and S Streets in Richmond. Mildred Della Pleasants of the 1700 block of North 28th Street was charged. He was treated at St. Phillip Hospital and discharged on 13 May. He died (age 58) on 15 May 1965 at his house in Richmond, Virginia. The State Medical Examiner's office ruled that he died from pulmonary thromboemboli (blood clots) resulting from the wound. According to his death certificate, he had been living at 6 Fells Street.[3] A news article gave Nonie's address as 625 North 31st Street.[4] He was buried in East End Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
