Biography

Clem was born in 1910. He is the son of James Bell and Hannah Kennedy. [1]

He lived in Newcastle circa. 1939-44[2], took up residence in Wingham again in 1946[3] and was in Port Kembla in 1953. [4]


15 Oct 1935 - The Maitland Daily Mercury (NSW)

The engagement is announced of Miss Mabel Walpole (daughter of Mr. T. Walpole, of Killabakh), to Mr. Clem Bell (second son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Bell of Wingham).[5]


15 Oct 1940 - The Wingham Chronicle and Manning River Observer (NSW)

Mr. Clem Bell (son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bell, of Wingham), who is employed by the B.H.P., Newcastle, met with an accident just recently whilst at work, and as a result had a joint of the little finger of his right hand severed. Clem spent several days in hospital, but he is now out and about again and doing well.[6]
