Lutie was born about 1872. She is the daughter of Eli Benedict and Harriet Barton.

In 1880 an E.E. Benedict (52, b. CT, farming, both parents b. CT) headed a Brimfield, OH (Portage County) household with wife H.A. Benedict (47, b. MA, both parents b. MA), daughter Julia Benedict (28, b. OH, teaching school, single, father b. CT, mother b. MA), son Charles Benedict (20, b. OH, apprentice to machinist, single, father b. CT, mother b. MA), son Albert Benedict (11, b. OH, father b. CT, mother b. MA), daughter Lucy Benedict (7, b. OH, father b. CT, mother b. MA), and mother Marcella Benedict (87, b. CT, widowed, both parents b. CT).

Lou Haddy (29, b. Kent, OH), daughter of Eli Benedict and Harriet Barton, married Albert Carmichael (25, b. W. Union, IA), son of Jas. Carmichael and Calista Jennings, 25 Jul 1903 in Cuyahoga County, OH. Lou had previously married once before.^[1]

Lutie Carmichael (82, b. Brunfield, OH), died 20 Apr 1954 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Eli E. Benedict. She was widowed at the time of her death. Garnett Carmichael was the informant.^[2]

1910 census has a Lutia Carmichael (38, b. IL. both parents b. TN) married to Adelbert Carmichael (Carmichael-2866). This data does not match up with this profile, but the birthplaces may have all been misrepresented.
