Biography

When Dinah BENNETT was born on April 7, 1881, in Channel-Port aux Basques, Newfoundland and Labrador (part of the British empire), her father, Rueben, was 33, and her mother, Dinah, was 31.

She married John Reuben Galton SCOTT (known as John R) on April 27, 1900, in her hometown. They had 9 children in 20 years.

Dinah lost her mother at a very young age. As she was an only child, her father had to go to work, so he had to send her to another family to be raised. She had a very sad childhood, but once she was an adult and had her family, she was a happy woman. Dinah did have a stroke and was paralysed on her left side. She was bedridden for over 12 years before her death in 1959 at the age of 78.
