In the 1900 census George (age 6) was the grandchild of Henry F Simkey in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, United States.^[2]

In the 1910 census George (age 16) was the single son of Andrew J Benton in Precinct 9, Washington, District of Columbia, United States.^[3]

George (age 26) married Florence I. Morley (age 22) on 26 July 1919 in District of Columbia, United States.^[4]

In the 1930 census George (age 37) was the married head of household in Arlington, Arlington, Virginia, United States.^[5]

He passed away in 1985. ^[6]

George's son George Robert Benton died on 1 June 1971 in Edinburg, Shenandoah, Virginia, United States.^[7]
