Biography

Mary Georgina Rose Bertie was born in 1875 at Weston on the Green in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of Frederic Arthur Bertie and his wife Rose, born Rose Emily de Montmorency. [1] [2] [3] [4]

1881 census: Mary G. Bertie was living at 2 Les Châlets in St Helier on Jersey with her parents, Frederic and Rose, and their other children. Her age was given as 5, implying a birth date in 1875 or 1876. Her birthplace was given as England. [3]

Her father died in 1885.

1891 census: Mary was living at the Manor House at Weston on the Green with her widowed mother Rose and her other children. Her age was given as 15, implying a birth date in 1875 or 1876. Her birthplace was given as Weston on the Green, Oxfordshire. [4]

She died on 5 March 1928. She was buried at St Paul's churchyard at Kiambu in Kenya. [2]
